March 2010 – After 25 years with Burns & Farrey, Ed McGrath has left the firm to pursue a lifelong dream of running for public office. We wish him all the best in his new endeavor.
February 2010 – On February 5, 2010 Thomas B. Farrey, III was installed as Secretary of the Massachusetts Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) at the Chapter’s Annual Dinner Meeting and Installation of New Officers. Lt. Governor Timothy Murray was the Keynote Speaker. ABOTA is a national organization whose purpose is to preserve the right to trial by jury.
November 2009 – Erik J. Tomberg and Edward B. McGrath of our Boston office have authored a chapter, “Torts to Property,” in the updated “Torts Law Manual,” which was published by Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education, Inc. (MCLE) in November. The chapter provides a broad overview of Trespass to Land, Nuisance, Waste, and Trespass to Chattels/Conversion.
November 2009 – Jeffrey A. Fishman of our Worcester office was honored by the St. Thomas More Society of Worcester County as the 2009 recipient of the Bishop Bernard J. Flanagan Ecumenical Award. The award was presented at the Red Mass celebration held on

October 2009 – James P. McLarnon, Jr. of our Worcester office was recently published in the UK-based "Post Magazine" for his piece "Articles of Faith", which details steps insurers can take to avoid and defend bad faith claims.
